Global crude steel production in February 2025 fell by 3.4% year-on-year

In February 2025, the global crude steel production of 69 countries/regions included in the world steel association’s statistics was 144.7 million tons, a decrease of 3.4% year-on-year.

In February 2025, Africa’s crude steel production was 1.9 million tonnes, up 7.6% year-on-year; Asia and Oceania’s crude steel production was 107.3 million tonnes, down 2.6% year-on-year; the EU (27 countries) produced 10.1 million tonnes of crude steel, down 7.1% year-on-year; other European countries produced 3.3 million tonnes of crude steel, down 9.7% year-on-year; the Middle East produced 3.7 million tonnes of crude steel, down 11.5% year-on-year; North America produced 8.2 million tonnes of crude steel, down 6.3% year-on-year; Russia and other CIS countries + Ukraine produced 6.7 million tonnes of crude steel, down 1.9% year-on-year; South America produced 3.4 million tonnes of crude steel, down 3.2% year-on-year.

India’s crude steel output is 12.7 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 6.3%;

Japan’s crude steel output is 6.4 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 8.5%;

The United States’ crude steel output is 6 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7.0%;

Russia’s estimated crude steel output is 5.8 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.4%;

South Korea’s crude steel output is 5.2 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.7%;

Turkey’s crude steel output is 2.9 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.6%;

Brazil’s crude steel output is 2.7 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.6%;

Germany’s crude steel output is 2.7 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 13.5%;

Iran’s crude steel output is 1.7 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 21.8%.
